toothache

so yesterday my tooth randomly started hurting. nothing bad, i popped a few advil and it was fine. anyway when those wore off that night, i felt like i was gonna die. last night i took i think 7 advil just trying to get the pain to go away so i could sleep but nothing changed it. dissapointed in myself for taking that many as im probably close to an ulcer right now. to make things weirder, if i stand up, the pain starts to go away, but if im sitting the pain starts to come back, and if i lay down, it !#@!ing hurts like hell.

now im sitting here pissed off because i didnt sleep and have a relentless pain in my face.

anyone else ever have a toothache like this? if so, what did you do to make it go away? i need temorary help till i can get to a dentist.

No, but my wife has.  She needed two root-canals last year.  She was REAL fun to live with.....

The strongest pain killers you can get.  Something with coedine if you can take it.  222's can be bought up here without a prescription, you just have to ask the pharmacist for them.  You are right though, this is only temporary; you need to get into a dentist ASAP.

oregel shit works good put some around the gums by that tooth and then if it seems to be a cavity put some on the top... and get to the !#@!ing denist because walking around with a half numb mouth so you don't feel like dying can only last so long...

And BTW missy, weren't you a smoker??  That's a LOT worse for you than the occasional tylenol.

i can not take !#@!ing pain killers... something about them freaks me out... the only time i will take them is when they shove it down my throat at the hospital..

no epidural... i might consider taking the pain pills but i don't want to do an epidural because of all the risks of back issues...

I've never had any kind of bad toothache... Even when about half my tooth broke off...

I've had 2 teeth that I had severe problems with and one I've had an abcess in for over 2 years now. After the first of January I'm just going to have it pulled. It doesn't bug me too much,but I have a blister over the tooth on my gum and sometimes it puffs up and bugs he whole side of my sinuses.
But anyways, if you aren't allergic to asprin or you can get a painkiller type thing like Adolf said, crunch a bit of it to powder and put it directly around and on your tooth. If it's just irritating you , oil of clove on a cotton swab Q-tip type thing on and around the tooth can help. It tastes pretty nasty, but when your teeth hurt it's better than the pain. That stuff lasts forever too if you keep it capped tightly. Oragel and stuff like that never worked too long for me. And watch that stuff because if you use it too much it can permanently numb nerve endings in whatever it touches. That can be bad for tastebuds.

And get to a dentist. It probably won't get better. If you can afford to get a crown if there's enough too the there do that, but if not get it pulled. That is if that's necessary.

oh come on i said i would probably take the pills... i just don't want some paralyzing needle stuck in my spine... and blah women have done it for thousands of years!!!
