As your resident system admin I recommend people do a virus and malware scan on your PC once in awhile even if you have a virus scan installed. There are quite a few viruses that don't get picked up by conventional scanners (or signatures being out of date or expired) and it is always safe to get a second opinion. Here is a list of online virus & malware scanner tools I find useful for testing for spyware, malware, trojans, bots, virii and tracking cookies.
Trendmicro Housecall Online Virus Scan You can choose Java or Browser Plugin versions, sometimes takes awhile so let it run overnight. Good scanner but may not remove all the viruses automatically. It will notify you of viruses for manual removal.

Based on the award-winning McAfee VirusScan engine, FreeScan searches for viruses, including the latest known "in the wild" viruses, and displays a detailed list of any infected files. Should viruses be found, FreeScan even provides links to more information about the viruses and what you can do to clean your system.

It is supported by AVG and updates its malware signatures upon loading the applet. It is a good maintainence scan to run if you visit underground, warez, porn or other subjective sites to keep your computer running properly.
