I'm probably going to put in some new pickups as the first step.
I'm most likely going to put in these:
since they match the stock pickup set configuration, but if anyone has any other recommendations, please give them to me.
This is the style of it, except mine is blue

I found that a blend and master volume seemed to work well with my GSR200(also blue), though mine was made before the fourth knob was added.
Look into some other pickup makers, and read a lot of reviews of anything you're considering purchasing. I've heard of bass players having a bit of a love/hate relationship with EMG's

IS that a soundgear? I had 2 of these.. I still have a silver one I play often, I like them,.. they are like jr. basses tho!
The pickups are prolly worth more than the guitar is...

Eh, I can't get those pups anyway since they are active and my basses have passive pups.
I'll probably get some Seymour Duncans as they are highly recommended by my bass teacher
You can get active pickups installed in a passive bass. The installation would just be more expensive with all of the extra routing.

You would be further ahead to unload the bass and you could probably buy a Cort with Bartolini's in it with the proceeds and be way further ahead. These GSR200's are nice playing basses for the money but don't pile any money into it. You will regret it. Check out the Cort Curbows on eBay. Just make sure they have the Bart's and they sound awesome!

Also, if I'm going to get rid of the bass, I'm going to sell it on Craig's List or something because I'll get shit all for it if I trade it in at Sam Ash or something
Yeah, definitely don't sell instruments to stores, especially major ones.

Holy shit, I've got that same bass in a turquoise-ish color.

My bass sounds awesome with the new pickups in it ^_^
I will take some pictures later
Why would we care what it looks like?
We want sound clips, fool.

Sound clips are pretty pointless if you don't know what the bass sounds like with the stock pups in it (for comparison)
Well, that's your own silly fault then, isn't it?
And we can still judge whether they sound good or not, which is at least more interesting than pictures.

All I have to do that is a shitty mic, so it's probably not the best way to indicate if the pickup sounds is good. I am also too lazy to go out and buy a better mic.
Well, don't you suck?

Okay. I cleaned up the banter, but check the date before bumping something to comment on it when it's nontopical. Generally they just move off the page. Thanks for being peaceable.
