Zappatrazz should be able to answer this since he has the same guitar as I do now, but what is the best cleaner/polish to use for something with a mahogany body?

Mahogany is a type of wood, not slang for penis, okay?

I am aware of this and I still say semen.

I don't bother cleaning it, to be honest. Unless you want to try some standard wood or furniture cleaner (lightly applied on a cloth since it's a flat finish). But if you're looking to get rid of fingerprints and little smudges, try a dab of rubbing alcohol on a cloth and apply to the areas needed. Probably not the best advice, but it seems to work for me if I do bother getting little stuff out.

When I worked at a music store the staff would use lemon oil on most woods... works well and brings the wood to a shine.

Yeah, I didn't know if there was something other than lemon oil I can use.  How do you recommend applying the oil to the guitar?

I would use proper lemon oil for guitars from a music store not the floor cleaner stuff. I'm not sure if there are any subsitutes... we would just put some on a cloth and work it in... i would clean the guitar first with some sort of guitar cleaner (house brand) then apply the oil. If it's a beater guitar you can prolly just use murphys oil soap.

Well, what type of cleaner would you recommend for a mahogany body?  Does the Dunlop 65 stuff suffice?

The names of the stuff I used has since vanished from my memory however I think it was either D'addario or Fender brand cleaners & polishes since we had exclusivity with both those brands at the time. I have heard good reports about "Chapin guitar polish"; sometimes asking the clerk can yield great results -- esp. if they can play guitar.

Meguiar's Fender Instrument Care Kit might be worth a look, this company makes professional wax for high end cars too!

I had a box of that, never used it, let a friend borrow it 2 years ago, and haven't seen in since.
