I have had one for a couple months now and am just getting around to using it. I have been using it maybe 2 weeks now and already a big improvement. I paid like 20$ for mine, it's a cheap little qwik time quartz metronome. I would definitely recommend buying one if you want to improve on your accuracy and speed. They are a little tricky to get used to at first but after a few rounds with one, you will feel some self gradification about your playing.

I can't play to a metronome. I suggest buying a CD with a load of drum tracks on.

She's the one chick on TC whose appearance is a total mystery
So I'm assuming she's just a giant Jabba the Hutt-like creature made from a giant clitoris

I can't play to a metronome. How can you not play to a Metronome? He sucks at life? I'm up to 152 bpm playing one note per click and 80 playing two notes per click on my bass Playing with a metronome isn't that hard. I'm at 200 bpm at 2 notes per click. I know there is probably a more technical correct way of saying that but whatever.

A metronome is one of the first accessories anybody playing an instrument should purchase.

Well there's been a lot of nights in yours and my life, and sometimes we got lonely so we just "got by." And we've both felt love for somebody else and other peoples' tongues ended up in our mouths.

I've found metronomes to be very easy to loose. If you really want to work on good time, you should work on being able to feel the space between the clicks, like for instance, start playing with a click on 2 and 4 instead of 1 and 3, or subdivide for playing in odd time signatures. Thats where the metronome can really make things fun.
Also, fast tempos are great, but do you know how much concentration it takes to play at tempos below like 50 beats per minute? You can really work on consistency when you go down to those kinds of tempos, especially if you count in your head along to what you're playing.
I think twad' just doesn't yet have good time.

Or he's the same as me and prefers playing to an actual beat rather than just clicking. I've never played to a metronome and I have near-perfect timing.

That's why your timing is still only near-perfect.

No, it's near-perfect as I haven't worked on it much in the past few years as I don't play the drums much

No, it's near-perfect as I haven't worked on it much in the past few years as I don't play the drums much But timing is so important for any musician, not just drummers. With a only drummer with good time you can really only go so far musically.

I'm aware of this. I still have a very good sense of timing, much better than most musicians, I just haven't worked on it the same way I used to in a while.

My ancient metronome owns your asses. Those things don't really have that great time, mainly because of their sensitivity to gravity.

Yes I do. I always start off practicing slow. If you don't you'll be able to play somewhat fast but it'll be sloppy as shit. That's one of the first rules I have read about training with a metronome on numerous websites.

How do they define 'slow'? I started around 100 bpm
Pfft. A lot of Fay Wray songs are at 80 or 90bpm. Our slowest is 60bpm (can't remember which one that is though)...
