Wait, so hitting harder gets lower notes, and softer gets higher ones?

Compared to some of the shit I've seen done by people on my course, that's pretty boring.

Yes, I would like to play it and see how it reacted. When I first came across this it reminded me of something over at a friends house. He was dumping some trash off at the dump and there were some burnt up grand piano guts lying by the dumpster as if there had been a house fire. He took the guts (burnt strings and all) and hung it up on his art room wall. Then he had these little metal rods from something, they kinda resembeled chopsticks, and we used to bang on the individual strings with them like a xylophone. We came up with some pretty cool shit. That thing was so fun.

It really wouldn't be correct to call it a piano, more so just a wall based note generator.

Yeah I agree but thats what the guy named it. It's easier for non musically educated people to grasp the concept. I bet that thing would probably be more trouble than it's worth to learn how to even remotely play. On another note, I am in the process of building a thumb piano for my sister as a christmas gift.

Well, it's probably more just for fun than anything really functionally useful.

Engel, you have to check out some Animusic and Blue Man Group on you tube if you like freaky instruments. They're both awesome.
