I'm pretty sure he uses an LP. And live he uses his own custom guitar.

no effects really other than distortion i think. Its mainly an out of phase sound from the pickups. If its an LP, its probably neck + bridge, with tone all the way down on the bridge, and playing the strings with your fingers
