Hey everybody.

Well, it happened. I fried most of my ENGL, and now I'm without guitar amp. I have a Peavy TKQ 115 bass amp sitting around, though. My question: Can I plug my guitar into it without risking damage?

Thanks
'Ryck.

Of course. You can't fry a bass amp by playing a guitar through it, it's the other way around.

Yes, the Russian guy is true.

Personally, I have a Fender Bassman... You can plug anything into that. Bass channels and guitar channels.
Perfect for every gig.

How in the hell do you get decent guitar sounds thru a bass amp? The speakers aren't designed to carry the higher signal that the guitar produces. Bass speakers are much thicker and are made to carry a low responce not like guitar amp speakers so the sound that the guitar produces will sound like shit thru a bass amp, but can be done. Wouldn't recommend it for a "gig".

It depends what amp you're using. If all you've got is a big 15" speaker, then it will probably sound crap, but a good bass amp will have tweeter speakers as well...

Most Ampegs have a very generous amount of all kinds of mids.

Most amps aren't built like an Ampeg. IMO they (Ampeg) are probally one of the best bass amps on the market but no way in hell I'm going to run one of my Gibsons thru a Fender Bassman amp and think that it sounds great.

I knew a guy who played his jazzbox through a bass amp. It sounded great with a really thick, warm tone. At least, I think it was a bass amp.
