This beat is bananas

on both my epiphones the pickup toggle switches are worn and I can only use one pickup unless I take it apart and bend the connector back but it only lasts for a few toggles until it bends back out of reach to connect.  After learning this I have realized that while not in use the switch should be put to neutral so the metal tabs dont get bent.  I was wondering if anyone had any techniques like items that they placed in the switch to keep the connector tab from bending too far out of range??  I just thought of somthing but not sure if it will work or not.  I am going to try putting a rubber band around both the metal tabs to pull the V closer together.

Meh, they're not expensive and they're useful to have.

Or just find a friend with one to borrow...

I had toggle issues on my Epi SG.  It was still under warranty, so I just had the switch replaced.

Wouldn't the rubber band just slide off of the metal part sooner rather than later?

You can get a cheap pencil type soldering iron for about $6 at Radio Shack, and another $1 for the solder.

So far it's payed for itself about 10 times over with the repair of my pots and some various cables I've had lying around.
