Okay, I'm thinking of taking out my Floyd Rose floating bridge and replacing it with a stopbar tailpiece and auto tuner jobbies, as you get on hard tail models. Anyone got any ideas of pricing for this procedure in shops, as there is no way I am competent enough to do this.

I don't know for sure, but I would wager it would be VERY expensive.

The cost of the bridge, plus whatever it would cost to have the bridge routing and post holes filled with wood, plus whatever it would cost to have it finished over top of that to match the rest of the guitar.

Probably looking at a couple hundred, at least.

I'd say try and find a similar guitar with a stopbar tailpiece, it'll sound better than the guitar with all of the empty routing from the floyd rose.
