I just stripped some screws on my Ibanez trying to adjust my truss rod, and I'm wondering why it's so hard to find replacement screws in hardware stores. Is it just because they're in metric sizes or does Ibanez have something else going on?

They're typically specialized screws that are manufactured for guitar parts pretty much exclusively. Find the screw that matches your utility here, and be a bit more careful in the future. Getting new screws is a bit*h.

We had to find some specialty screws for something several years ago and went to an old marine hardware store and found them. That might be an option for odd screws, too.
