I'm thinking to buy a compression pedal and i'm hoping to get a tone close to that of Flea. The bass i'm using is a Billy Sheehan Yamaha Atd ltd 2 and the amp is a crate KX80... Any advice???

go to a groth music store. the one by me has a billion types of pedals, and some great employees to give you advice.

Try MXR Dynacomp or funky stuff... if you need tighter compression try the BOSS CS3 or Electro Harmonix Soul Preacher.

Flea sound? im suggesting you try zoom, its cheap and simple to use...using A0 will give you the groove you need bro.
